Sandiacre is a compact village in the Borough of Erewash, Derbyshire, England, lying between Derby and Nottingham. It sits alongside the Erewash Canal and close to the River Erewash, with good road links to the A52 and M1, which has made it a popular commuter base while still retaining a strong local identity.
Historically the area grew with canals, textiles and nearby mining, and you can still sense that industrial heritage in the layout and older buildings; the parish church of St Giles has medieval roots. Today the village is largely residential with pockets of light industry and local shops, a lively community scene including football and cricket clubs, and pleasant waterside and countryside walks that attract both locals and visitors.
