Hope is a village and civil parish in the High Peak district of Derbyshire, England, lying at the western end of the Hope Valley within the Peak District National Park. The River Noe runs through the valley and the landscape is dominated by limestone dales, gritstone edges and cavern systems that make the area popular with walkers, climbers and cavers.
The parish has a long industrial and archaeological past - Roman remains from the Navio fort at Brough hint at its strategic importance, while lead mining and quarrying shaped its economy for centuries. Today the mix of agriculture, remaining quarry activity and tourism supports local life; the village is served by Hope railway station on the Hope Valley line and retains pubs, shops and community events that cater to residents and visitors alike.
