The village of Marldon sits on the western edge of the Torbay area within the rolling countryside of the South Hams, Devon. From its lanes and commons there are pleasant views over hedgerow fields and small woods towards the coast, and the built environment - stone cottages, farmsteads and pockets of newer housing - still feels essentially rural despite proximity to the seafront towns.
Historically centred on its old parish church and several listed buildings, Marldon retains a lively village community with a village hall, local clubs and regular events; economically it combines agriculture and small local enterprises with many residents commuting to nearby Paignton and other coastal towns. The result is a typically Devonshire mix of countryside character, community activity and easy access to the bay.
