Dawlish Warren is a crescent-shaped sand spit and seaside resort at the mouth of the River Exe, forming part of the Exe Estuary in the district of Teignbridge, Devon, England. It combines a long sandy beach and shifting dunes with a nationally important nature reserve and lagoon, making it well known for birdwatching, dune ecology and coastal scenery.
Tourism and leisure are the local economic mainstays, with holiday parks, cafés and watersports drawing summer crowds, while the adjacent dunes and marshes attract naturalists outside the season. The settlement is also notable for the sea wall carrying the mainline railway along the coast - an engineering focal point that has been vulnerable to severe storms (notably the 2014 washout) - and it sits within easy reach of Exeter for wider services and transport links.
