Honiton

Honiton is a traditional market town in East Devon, in the county of Devon, England, sitting on the valley of the River Otter and with the rolling uplands of the Blackdown Hills and the Jurassic Coast within easy reach. The compact historic centre still shows its market-town roots with independent shops, antique dealers and cafés, and the surrounding landscape is largely agricultural and attractive for walkers and day visitors.

The town is best known for its long craft heritage - Honiton lace and locally produced pottery have national reputations (Honiton lace even featured in royal bridal wear) - and its economy mixes tourism, local services, light industry and commuters travelling to places such as Exeter and beyond by rail. Socially it retains a strong community feel with regular markets, events and a lively high street atmosphere.
