Lustleigh is a small rural village in the district of Teignbridge in Devon, England, sitting on the north‑eastern edge of Dartmoor in a steep, wooded valley known locally as Lustleigh Cleave beside the River Bovey. The compact core of granite cottages clustered around a village green gives it a picture‑book feel and makes it a popular base for walkers exploring the moor and the surrounding lanes.
The village’s long history is visible in the medieval church of St John the Baptist and in the character of its buildings, while community life centres on traditional events such as May Day and the annual Lustleigh Show. The local economy is still rooted in agriculture but tourism - tea rooms, B&Bs and holiday cottages - plays a big part, so the place feels both well visited and very much lived in.
