Pyworthy is a small rural village and civil parish in the district of Torridge, in north‑west Devon, England. It sits on the west bank of the River Tamar close to the border with Cornwall, giving the parish a mix of rolling farmland, wooded valley slopes and long views along the river corridor.
Historically the community grew up around its parish church and farming, and the landscape is still dominated by agriculture with scattered hamlets and country lanes rather than a single built‑up centre. Today the local economy remains largely agricultural with some commuting to nearby towns and a modest amount of rural tourism, while village events, the church and village hall sustain a strong small‑village social life.
