Scawthorpe is a residential suburb to the north of Doncaster in South Yorkshire, which grew up in the 20th century around mining and local industry and now has a mix of council and private housing, local shops and community facilities. It’s essentially a commuter suburb with decent road links into the town and plenty of nearby green spaces, giving it a working‑class, community‑focused feel despite the wider post‑industrial changes in the area.
Cusworth sits to the north‑west of Doncaster and is best known for Cusworth Hall, an 18th‑century Georgian house set in extensive parkland and walled gardens that now houses a local museum and hosts outdoor events. The village and surrounding neighbourhood feel distinctly more leafy and conservation‑minded than some parts of the town, popular with families and commuters who value the historic setting and easy access to the city’s amenities.
