Bridlington in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England is a classic North Sea seaside town on the sweep of Bridlington Bay, with wide sandy beaches, a working harbour and easy access to dramatic chalk cliffs at Flamborough Head and the seabird colonies at Bempton Cliffs, which draw birdwatchers and coastal walkers.
Once a medieval port with its own priory, Bridlington became a Victorian resort and still mixes tourism, a modest fishing fleet and retirement communities; the old town and Bridlington Priory reflect its history while the Spa and seafront entertain visitors. The local economy leans on day‑trippers, holiday parks and seasonal trade, and the town shares the familiar social challenges of many British coastal places, such as seasonal employment and services for an ageing population.
