Robertsbridge is a largely rural ward in the district of Rother, East Sussex, set in the rolling landscape of the High Weald and straddling the valley of the River Rother. It combines a compact settlement pattern of village streets, farms and newer housing on the edges, with good transport links via the local station on the Hastings line that provides direct services to London and Hastings, making it popular with commuters as well as long‑standing agricultural households.
The area has medieval roots, anchored by the remains of a 12th‑century Cistercian foundation and an historic market character, and reflects the former Wealden industries of milling and ironworking. Today the ward retains a strong village feel with independent shops, pubs and community groups, and attracts walkers and visitors for its countryside and heritage while supporting a mix of local businesses and residential life.
