Gosfield is a small village and civil parish in the Braintree district of Essex, England, set in gently rolling agricultural countryside a short drive from the market towns of Braintree and Halstead. It is best known for Gosfield Hall, an impressive country house with historic gardens, and the remains of the wartime airfield, RAF Gosfield, which was used by Allied forces during the Second World War.
Today the village combines farming with commuter households and a small local economy supported by events at the hall and nearby towns; social life centres on typical village amenities and community groups, with an active village hall, church and pub that help retain a strong local identity despite changing patterns of work and leisure.
