Little Dunmow is a small village and civil parish in Uttlesford, Essex, England, a couple of miles north of Great Dunmow and within easy reach of Stansted Airport. Its history is centred on the remains of Little Dunmow Priory, and the medieval priory is famed for originating the quirky Dunmow Flitch tradition, where happily married couples were once awarded a flitch of bacon.
Today the parish remains largely rural and agricultural, with a handful of listed buildings and a close-knit village community; some residents commute to London or nearby towns while others work in farming, small businesses and heritage tourism when Flitch customs are revived. Quiet lanes, the village church and occasional local events help maintain a strong sense of place and history.
