Kemble is a small village on the edge of the Cotswold hills in the district of Gloucestershire, England, sitting between Cirencester and Fairford. It occupies a gently rolling landscape that reaches down towards the Vale of the Thames, and the traditional source of the river at Thames Head lies close by, which makes the area popular with walkers and those interested in natural history.
The village is notable for its aviation heritage: the former RAF base, known as RAF Kemble, is now Gloucestershire Airport, a busy general aviation and business aviation hub that also hosts occasional air displays and film work. Kemble retains a strongly rural character with honey‑coloured Cotswold stone buildings, farming in the surrounding countryside and a mix of long‑standing local families and commuters who work in nearby towns.
