Popham

Popham is a small civil parish in the district of Basingstoke and Deane, in Hampshire, England. It is largely rural and agricultural with a low population, scattered farms and a handful of historic buildings that give the area a quiet, sparsely settled character.

Its best-known feature is Popham Airfield, a grass-strip used by light aircraft and flying clubs that brings occasional activity and visitors; the parish also carries the legacy of the old Popham manor and family, so it has deeper historical roots than its size might suggest. Many residents commute to nearby towns such as Basingstoke, making it a place where rural life and easy access to services sit side by side.
