The small village and civil parish of Lasham sits on the chalk downland of East Hampshire in Hampshire, England. Set in a largely rural landscape of fields and woods, it lies near the market town of Alton and within easy reach of Basingstoke, giving a quiet village character while remaining reasonably connected to larger centres.
What sets Lasham apart is its large airfield: originally established as RAF Lasham in the Second World War, Lasham Airfield now supports aircraft maintenance activity and the well‑known Lasham Gliding Society, one of the biggest gliding clubs in Europe. Beyond the aviation presence the parish remains agricultural, with historic cottages, a parish church and a small, close‑knit community where rural life and local events still shape daily life.
