West End is a village and civil parish in the borough of Eastleigh in Hampshire, southern England, sitting on the edge of the Southampton urban area. It grew from scattered farmland and common land into a compact suburban community through 19th- and 20th-century development, and retains pockets of green space and older buildings that hint at its rural past.
Today it functions largely as a commuter and local-service centre with a mixture of small shops, pubs, schools and community facilities, alongside active sports clubs and annual village events. The social character is a blend of long-standing families and newer residents, and there’s a quiet pride in local history and the balance between built-up areas and surrounding countryside.
