West End North is a suburban ward on the edge of the Eastleigh borough in Hampshire, sitting between the urban edge of Southampton and more rural parts of the county. It is largely residential, with a mix of inter‑war and post‑war housing, local shops and community facilities, small parks and playing fields that give it a village‑like feel despite its proximity to larger towns.
Historically the area grew out of heathland and small agricultural communities and expanded through the 20th century as commuting to nearby towns became easier. Today many residents work in the wider Solent economy while local social life centres on schools, sports clubs, village events and a handful of pubs and community groups; good road links such as the M27 and nearby rail stations make it convenient for travel and day‑to‑day shopping or leisure in the region.
