Blackfield and Langley are adjacent villages on the western edge of the New Forest in Hampshire, England, lying close to the Solent coast and the industrial village of Fawley. The settlements sit between coastal marshes and forest heath and expanded during the 19th and 20th centuries with links to shipbuilding, docks and nearby refinery and port activity; they also have convenient commuter routes into Southampton.
Today the area mixes small‑town amenities - shops, schools and community centres - with easy access to walking, cycling and riding on the New Forest; locally there’s a blend of long‑standing families and newer commuters, village pubs and events remaining focal points, while the surrounding heathland and shoreline attract wildlife and visitors.
