Southwick and Wickham are neighbouring villages in the district of Winchester, Hampshire, set in the rolling chalk of the Meon Valley and close to the South Downs. The River Meon threads through the area, giving a mix of farmland, water meadows and small wooded valleys; good road and rail links mean many residents commute to Portsmouth or Southampton while the surrounding countryside remains largely agricultural.
Wickham is particularly notable for its attractive historic high street, independent shops and traditional pubs, and for hosting an annual music festival that draws visitors from across the region. The local economy is therefore a blend of farming, small businesses and tourism, and the communities are active with village halls, clubs and churches that reflect a history stretching back centuries.
