Dorstone is a small village and civil parish in Herefordshire, England, set on rolling hills near the Golden Valley and beneath the Black Mountains, close to the border with Wales. The area carries a strong sense of history: the Neolithic chambered tomb Arthur's Stone stands on a nearby summit and the ruined Snodhill Castle is within easy reach, offering views across the patchwork of fields and lanes.
The local economy is largely agricultural, with livestock and small-scale arable farming supplemented by tourism - holiday cottages, B&Bs and walkers come for the quiet footpaths and scenery. It remains a close-knit rural community with a village hall and local events, and makes a peaceful base for exploring the borderlands and the famous book town of Hay-on-Wye.
