Hertford Heath is a village in the district of East Hertfordshire, in the county of Hertfordshire, England, sitting on a stretch of elevated heath just to the south of the county town of Hertford. The village overlooks parts of the Lea Valley and is surrounded by commons and pockets of heathy grassland and woodland that are popular with walkers and valued for local wildlife.
Locally it combines a village feel - with shops, pubs and active community groups - with a largely commuter population thanks to good road and rail links into Hertford and London. There are still glimpses of older architecture and a sense of historic continuity, while conservation of the surrounding heathland remains an important local concern.
