Wroxall is a small village and civil parish on the southern part of the Isle of Wight, situated between Ventnor and Shanklin. It occupies a pleasant spot of rolling downland and farmland with occasional sea glimpses, centred on a village green and the parish church of St John the Baptist.
The village is perhaps best known for Wroxall Abbey, a large Victorian house set on the site of an earlier religious foundation that later became a school and now contributes to the local hospitality and tourism offer. The local economy remains largely rural with tourism and commuting to nearby towns, and the community keeps a strong village feel through its hall, events and active local groups.
