Egerton is a small rural village and civil parish in the borough of Ashford, in Kent in south-east England. Set on a sandstone ridge it offers attractive views over the surrounding countryside and retains a compact historic core with a medieval parish church and several traditional cottages; much of the village is designated a conservation area.
Historically agricultural, the village today combines farming and small local businesses with a sizable number of residents who commute to Ashford and to London via the nearby high‑speed rail link. Community life is lively for a village of its size, centred on the village hall, local clubs and regular fêtes and markets that reflect a strong local identity and stewardship of the landscape.
