Lenham is a compact village and civil parish in the borough of Maidstone, Kent, England, set on the scarp of the North Downs above the valley of the River Stour. It sits on historic routes such as the Pilgrims' Way and commands long views over the Weald of Kent; the village is also close to the M20, making commuting to Maidstone or London straightforward for many residents.
Lenham retains a strong historic character with a medieval market square, timber-framed buildings and a long–standing parish church, and the nearby chalk figure known as the Lenham Cross marks the landscape. The local economy still reflects its agricultural hinterland but also small shops, pubs and services for a busy village community, and there are active local groups and events that celebrate its rural and historic identity.
