Bishopsbourne is a small village and civil parish a few miles south of Canterbury in Kent, England, tucked into the scarp of the North Downs and straddling the chalk winterbourne called the Nailbourne. The name reflects long historic ownership by the Archbishops of Canterbury, and the centre retains a medieval parish church and a cluster of historic cottages around a village green.
Today it feels largely rural - mixed farms and former hop gardens sit alongside a number of commuter households who travel into Canterbury and beyond - and the community revolves around a village hall, a pub and footpaths on the Downs. Its quiet lanes, conservation-minded buildings and easy access to countryside walks make it a good example of a Kentish downland parish with a strong local identity.
