Denton with Wootton is a small rural civil parish in the District of Dover, in Kent, England. It combines the two tiny settlements of Denton and Wootton and sits on the chalklands that characterise the area north of the coast, within easy reach of the famous White Cliffs of Dover and the rolling North Downs. The setting of lanes, hedgerows and downland gives the parish a distinctly rural feel despite being a short drive from the Channel ports and the town of Dover.
Locally the economy remains largely agricultural with some small-scale local enterprises, while many residents commute to nearby towns such as Dover or Canterbury. The parish keeps a quiet, village atmosphere with historic cottages and lanes, a modest programme of community events overseen by the parish council, and good walking routes for anyone wanting to explore Kent’s characteristic countryside and coastal views.
