Lympne is a small village and civil parish in the district of Folkestone and Hythe, in Kent, England, set on the low ground between the North Downs and Romney Marsh. Its long history is visible in the remains of the Roman Saxon shore fort Portus Lemanis and the medieval core around Lympne Castle, and the countryside offers open views towards the English Channel and the surrounding marshes and downland.
The parish has an unusual modern profile thanks to Lympne Airport (formerly RAF Lympne), which played notable roles in both world wars and now supports light aviation and occasional events, and the nearby Port Lympne Wild Animal Park, a significant visitor attraction that helps the local economy alongside farming. Socially it remains a quiet, community-focused place where history, aviation and conservation meet in a rural Kentish setting.
