Staplehurst is a village and civil parish in the borough of Maidstone, in Kent, England, set in the rolling countryside of the Weald and straddling the valley of the River Beult. Its mix of farmland and fruit orchards reflects Kent’s "Garden of England" character, while a compact high street, village shops and pubs sit alongside more modern housing.
Well served by a railway station with regular services to London and Ashford, Staplehurst has a sizable commuter population but retains a strong local community, active clubs and village events. Notable locally is the Victorian parish church and the historical memory of the 1865 rail crash, in which Charles Dickens was involved; economically the area combines agriculture with a predominantly residential character.
