Burham is a small village in the borough of Tonbridge and Malling, in Kent, England, lying on the west bank of the River Medway. It sits at the edge of the Medway valley beneath the North Downs and is close to Aylesford and Maidstone, with riverside marshes and remnants of chalk workings shaping the local landscape.
Historically the village grew up around river trade and cement and lime workings that dominated the economy into the 20th century; since the closure of the larger industrial sites it has become more of a residential and commuter community for Maidstone and London. Local life centres on the parish church and village amenities, and the riverbanks and marshes remain valued for wildlife, walking and a strong sense of small‑village community.
