Cliviger is a rural civil parish in the Borough of Burnley, Lancashire, England, sitting on the western fringes of the South Pennines between the town of Burnley and Todmorden. The parish occupies a steep, upland valley and surrounding moorland, offering wide views towards Pendle Hill and the Yorkshire hills; the landscape is a mix of pasture, heathy commons and rocky outcrops that attract walkers and riders.
Historically the valley supported small-scale coal mining, quarrying and agriculture, leaving behind stone buildings and field patterns alongside more recent commuter homes; today the local economy is largely agricultural with many residents working in nearby towns. Socially it remains sparsely populated with scattered hamlets and a strong local identity centred on parish activities, outdoor recreation and the conservation of its distinctive upland environment.
