Rishton is a small town in Hyndburn, Lancashire, England, set on the banks of the River Hyndburn between Accrington and Blackburn. It has a local railway station on the East Lancashire Line and sits at the edge of the rolling countryside that climbs towards the Pennines, making it handy for both town and country access.
Rishton grew rapidly as a cotton‑mill village during the Industrial Revolution and retains a number of Victorian mill buildings and terraced streets that reflect that heritage. Today it is largely a residential and local‑services community with small businesses, active community and sports groups, and a quieter, village‑scale atmosphere compared with the larger nearby towns.
