Warton is a village and civil parish in the City of Lancaster district of Lancashire, England, lying a few miles north of Carnforth and close to the coast and the Arnside and Silverdale AONB. The village sits beneath the limestone outcrop of Warton Crag, a Local Nature Reserve and SSSI with archaeological remains and wide views over Morecambe Bay, giving a strong mix of countryside and coastal walking on the doorstep.
Warton is also notable for Warton Aerodrome, the long-established BAE Systems test and assembly site that remains a major local employer, which lends the area a distinctive industrial‑aviation character alongside traditional village life, historic buildings and nearby country houses such as Leighton Hall. The result is a compact community where rural recreation and aviation heritage sit side by side.
