Gildersome is a village and civil parish in the City of Leeds, within West Yorkshire, England. It sits on the gently rolling ground between the larger urban centres of Leeds and Wakefield, making it convenient for commuters while still retaining a semi-rural feel with pockets of open green space and views across the Aire valley.
Historically Gildersome grew through the 18th and 19th century with coal, stone and textile-related activity, and today it is largely a residential community with small industrial estates, local shops, churches and sports clubs.
