Pool-in-Wharfedale is a riverside village in the metropolitan borough of Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, set on the north bank of the River Wharfe in the valley of Wharfedale, about eight miles north‑west of Leeds city centre and within easy reach of the Yorkshire Dales.
Historically the settlement grew up around water‑powered mills and coaching routes, and today it mixes traditional stone houses with more recent housing; it functions largely as a commuter village but retains a strong local community with a village school, pubs and clubs, and is valued for its riverside walks, floodplain meadows and straightforward access to nearby countryside.
