Leicester Forest East is a village and civil parish in the district of Blaby, on the western fringe of the city of Leicester in Leicestershire, England. Its name preserves the memory of the once extensive medieval Leicester Forest, and the modern settlement is notable for being bisected by the M1 motorway, close to the Leicester Forest East motorway services; that road access has shaped its geography and development.
Today it is largely a residential and commuter community with substantial mid-20th-century housing complemented by pockets of light industry and distribution warehousing taking advantage of the transport links. Local life centres on parish facilities, schools and shops, and there remains a strong sense of local identity rooted in the village’s woodland past and post‑war suburban growth.
