Heather is a small village in the district of North West Leicestershire, in the county of Leicestershire, England. It sits in rolling countryside on what was once heathland, close to the market town of Ashby-de-la-Zouch and the nearby National Forest, so it appeals to walkers and people who enjoy rural access while still being within easy reach of larger towns.
Despite its modest size, Heather has a recognisable historic core with a parish church and village hall and strong community activity. The village expanded in the 19th century with local rural trades and mining in the wider area, and today it combines agricultural surroundings with commuters, small businesses and leisure visitors drawn by local footpaths and the forested landscape.
