Folkingham is a small historic village and civil parish in the district of South Kesteven, in Lincolnshire, England. It sits in rolling agricultural countryside and retains a compact market place, a conspicuous Norman motte and other medieval earthworks, reflecting its long history (it is recorded in the Domesday Book and once gave its name to a local hundred/wapentake). The centre is characterised by stone and Georgian buildings and a parish church with a prominent tower, marking its former role as a local market town.
Today Folkingham remains a lively village with a close-knit community, local pubs, a village hall and shops serving the surrounding farming hinterland; agriculture still underpins much of the local economy while some residents commute to larger towns. Community clubs and events, together with the conservation of its historic centre, make it popular with walkers and those interested in rural Lincolnshire heritage.
