Hemswell is a small village and civil parish in West Lindsey, Lincolnshire, England, set in a largely agricultural landscape. The settlement retains the feel of a traditional Lincolnshire village, with older stone and brick buildings and a parish community centred on the church and village hall; local life is quiet, with farming and a handful of small businesses alongside residents who commute to larger centres.
Although the village has medieval roots, one of its most distinctive features is the nearby former airbase at Hemswell Cliff (originally RAF Hemswell), which played its part in the Second World War and the post‑war years. Many of the airfield buildings have been repurposed for housing, workshops and light industry, giving the area an interesting mix of rural character and aviation heritage that supports small enterprises, events and a niche visitor interest.
