Torksey is a small riverside village and civil parish in West Lindsey, Lincolnshire, England, sited where the Foss Dyke meets the River Trent. Its waterside position has long made it a local crossing and transport focus, and the Roman-era Foss Dyke link to Lincoln gives the area an unusually long continuity of inland navigation for a rural parish.
The place is notable for strong historic and archaeological interest - excavation has revealed a major Viking winter camp from the 9th century - and for landscape features such as the remains of the 16th-century fortified manor often called Torksey Castle and the striking Victorian Torksey Viaduct across the Trent. Today the economy is mainly agricultural with some commuting to nearby centres such as Gainsborough and Lincoln, and the riverbanks attract walkers, birdwatchers and leisure boaters.
