New Bradwell is a compact civil parish on the north‑west edge of the new town of Milton Keynes, historically in Buckinghamshire. It lies beside the Grand Union Canal and close to the River Great Ouse and Wolverton, which gives it a semi‑rural feel with waterside walks and pocket green spaces despite being part of the wider urban area.
The settlement began as a Victorian railway village built to house workers at the nearby Wolverton railway works and still shows a good deal of 19th‑century terraces and cottages. That industrial origin shaped the local economy and identity, but today New Bradwell functions largely as a residential community with active local organisations, sports clubs and a village‑style social life that contrasts with the broader new town development around it.
