Snettisham is a coastal village and civil parish in the district of King's Lynn and West Norfolk, in Norfolk, England. It sits on the edge of The Wash with a long shoreline of shingle and mudflats that attracts huge numbers of wintering wildfowl and waders; the nearby bird reserves make it a popular spot for birdwatching and nature tourism. The village retains a compact historic centre and a rural feel despite being close to seaside resorts such as Hunstanton.
Historically the area is notable for remarkable archaeological finds, most famously the Iron Age hoards discovered nearby, which underline a long human presence and trading importance. Today the local economy combines agriculture, small businesses and tourism, and many residents commute to larger towns; community life is centred on village organisations, the parish church and seasonal events that reflect its maritime and farming heritage.
