Keadby sits on the south bank of the River Trent in North Lincolnshire, England, where the Stainforth and Keadby Canal meets the river. The village grew around river and canal trade and is still marked by the distinctive Keadby Bridge and lock, reminders of its 19th‑ and 20th‑century transport and industrial importance.
The local skyline is dominated by the long‑standing power station complex, which has shaped the economy and employment of the area and more recently moved towards gas and lower‑carbon projects. Socially it feels like a small village with a strong industrial heritage, while anglers, boaters and birdwatchers make use of the nearby tidal wetlands of the Humber estuary and surrounding countryside.
