The cluster of villages of Glusburn, Cross Hills and Sutton-in-Craven sits in North Yorkshire, England, tucked into the Aire Valley between Keighley and Skipton. The area has river-side lowlands and the rolling moorland edges that lead up towards the Yorkshire Dales, and benefits from good rail links via Steeton and Silsden station and easy commuting into neighbouring West Yorkshire.
It grew in the 19th century as a textile and mill district, so you still spot Victorian terraces and former mill buildings now adapted for housing and light industry; today the economy is a mix of local businesses, services and commuters. Socially there’s a strong village feel with active clubs, churches and pubs, and plenty of walking and outdoor opportunities on the nearby dales and river paths.
