Oswaldkirk is a small village in North Yorkshire, England, set on the western fringes of the North York Moors and within the rolling countryside of the Howardian Hills AONB. It lies close to the market town of Helmsley and the religious and educational centre at Ampleforth, with farmland, limestone ridges and quiet lanes that make it popular with walkers and birdwatchers.
Its name literally means “Oswald’s church” and the settlement is centred on a church with medieval origins; historically agricultural, the local economy now mixes farming with rural tourism and some commuters. The village retains a strong local community spirit, with typical village events and conservation interests, and offers an attractive base for exploring the neighbouring national park and AONB.
