Terrington is a small rural village in the Ryedale district of North Yorkshire, set in rolling agricultural country not far from the attractive Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and within easy reach of the market town of Malton and the wider attractions of the North York Moors. Its position close to main roads makes it popular with walkers and with people commuting to larger centres such as York.
Historically an agricultural community, Terrington still has a quiet village feel with stone cottages, a parish church and a village hall at its social heart. The local economy remains dominated by farms and small businesses, while village events and local conservation efforts reflect a strong community spirit and interest in preserving the surrounding landscape.
