Seaton Sluice in Northumberland, England, is a small coastal village on the North Sea whose compact harbour and sandy bay sit beneath low cliffs and dunes. It’s tucked a few miles north of Whitley Bay and close to Blyth, giving it a convenient spot on the Northumberland coast and plenty of sea and cliff-top walks.
The village grew up around an 18th‑century harbour created by the Delaval family to export coal, so it retains strong maritime and industrial echoes even as tourism now plays a big role in the local economy. Visitors come for the beach, coastal walking, watersports and small cafés, and it’s handy for historic attractions such as Seaton Delaval Hall, making it a compact place where seaside leisure meets industrial heritage.
