Annesley Woodhouse is a village in the district of Ashfield in Nottinghamshire, England, lying just a short drive from Kirkby-in-Ashfield and not far from Mansfield and Nottingham. It sits on the edge of the Nottinghamshire countryside with patches of woodland and farmland nearby, and benefits from good road links into the wider East Midlands so many residents commute to larger towns and cities.
Historically the village expanded in the 19th and 20th centuries as part of the Nottinghamshire coalfield and retains that close-knit, post‑industrial village character; after pit closures the local economy shifted towards light industry, retail and commuting. Community life is centred on local shops, pubs, sports clubs and village organisations, and the area still shows traces of its estate and mining past alongside newer housing and green spaces.
