Kimberley is a small town in the borough of Broxtowe in Nottinghamshire, England, sitting on the western edge of the Nottingham urban area. Its location on the old Nottinghamshire coalfield and close to regional road links means it functions today largely as a residential and commuter settlement while retaining a clear local identity.
Kimberley expanded rapidly in the 19th century with mining and associated industries, and that heritage is visible in rows of Victorian terraces, miners’ memorials and repurposed former industrial sites that have been turned into green spaces and community facilities. The town has a mix of independent shops, local clubs and community organisations, and a quieter, suburban character compared with nearby urban centres.
