Arnold is a sizeable market town and northern suburb of Nottingham, lying in the Borough of Gedling in Nottinghamshire, England. It occupies gently rising ground a few miles north‑east of the city centre and is notable for green spaces such as Arnot Hill Park, with Gedling Country Park - on the site of the former Gedling Colliery - close by, giving a mix of suburban and semi‑rural character and views over the Trent valley area.
Historically the town grew in the 19th century around framework knitting and light industry; today it functions largely as a commuter and retail centre with a busy high street, out‑of‑town retail parks and an active community calendar of events. The population is socially mixed, with a well‑established local identity and good transport links into Nottingham, making it a practical base for people working in the city while retaining its own parks and local amenities.
