Daybrook is an urban suburb and electoral ward in the borough of Gedling, Nottinghamshire, England, sitting just to the north‑east of Nottingham city centre. The ward grew up around the small stream known as the Day Brook and today combines pockets of Victorian and early 20th‑century housing with a compact local high street of independent shops, pubs, churches and community facilities.
Historically the area developed as part of Nottinghamshire’s industrial expansion, supplying workers to the region’s lace and hosiery trades, and you can still see that era in the streetscape. Modern Daybrook is largely a commuter neighbourhood with good bus links into Nottingham, a socially mixed population of long‑standing families and newer residents, and easy access to green spaces such as Arnot Hill Park and wider recreational areas in the borough.
